Alter Bridge - Rise Today

Cuando las bandas se separan, no suelen tardar mucho en aparecer nuevos proyectos por separado, y nuevas bandas aparecen. En el caso de Alter Bridge, lo curioso es que surgió del grupo Creed. Brian Marshall se había ido de la anterior banda por diferencias con el cantante, y en cuanto de anunció que la banda se separaba, Scott Phillips y Mark Tremonti buscaron un nuevo cantante y, entre todos, formaron esta banda. Así que Alter Bridge es básicamente Creed con un nuevo cantante.

El nombre del grupo viene de la infancia de Tremonti, que vivía en una ciudad que tenía un barrio bastante malo llamado Alter Road. Para llegar allí, se debía cruzar un puente (Alter Bridge), pero todos los niños lo tenían prohibido por sus padres. Así, este puente se convirtió para él en un símbolo de lo prohibido y lo desconocido.

Su segundo disco se llamó Blackbird y salió en 2006, siendo su primer single esta canción, Rise Today. No es que se hicieran mundialmente famosos por esto, pero consiguieron su mayor éxito en las listas de ventas gracias a ello (el número 3 en EEUU).
